Quetta, July 16 (NationPress) A human rights organization disclosed that during June, there were 33 reported cases of extrajudicial killings and 84 instances of forced disappearances across Pakistan's Balochistan. Victims included students, poets, farmers, and activists who were targeted for advocating justice.
According to Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement, the Pakistani Army, Frontier Corps (FC), Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and state-supported death squads are implicated in systematic abductions, torture, and executions.
In its report titled 'Balochistan Human Rights Report – June 2025', Paank highlighted the alarming human rights abuses occurring in the province, particularly concerning enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
The cases documented by Paank indicate a clear pattern of state repression, where individuals are detained without justification and are frequently unlawfully killed by Pakistani forces.
“In June 2025, numerous incidents of enforced disappearances and unlawful detentions were recorded across 14 districts of Balochistan, including cases from Karachi and Islamabad. The districts of Kech and Mastung reported the highest occurrences of disappearances,” stated Paank.
The report revealed that in June alone, there were 84 cases of disappearances across 14 districts, with 32 individuals suffering from mental and physical abuse, and 33 people falling victim to extrajudicial killings.
Among the details shared, the prominent human rights organization mentioned Zeeshan Baloch, 21, who was abducted and killed while advocating for his vanished father.
Kamran Jattak, a tribal elder, was fatally shot after denouncing the abduction of Asma Jattak. Aman Ullah Baloch committed suicide following persistent threats and psychological torture from military personnel, as per Paank.
