New Delhi, Feb 28 (NationPress) A varied group of 40 officers successfully completed the 23rd Combined Instrument Rating Instructor and Examiner (CIRIE) Course organized by the Aircrew Examining Board (AEB), as reported on Saturday. The AEB, responsible for maintaining the utmost flying standards within the Indian Air Force (IAF), held the graduation ceremony at Air Force Station, Hindan on Friday.
Among the graduates, there were 32 officers from the IAF, two from the Indian Army, two from the Indian Navy, and four from allied nations including Kenya, Uganda, and Madagascar.
This specialized course not only emphasizes the strengthening of tri-service collaboration but also highlights the IAF's position as a global center of excellence in aviation, according to the statement.
The esteemed six-week program under the CIRIE course showcases the IAF's steadfast commitment to aviation excellence.
The graduation ceremony was presided over by Air Marshal Tejbir Singh, AVSM, VM, Director General (Inspection & Safety), whose extensive operational background enriched the event.
Officers Wg Cdr Deepak Awasthi, Wg Cdr Vishal Joshi, and Wg Cdr Rohit Tiwari were recognized by the reviewing officer for achieving the top positions among aircrew from the fighter, transport, and helicopter sectors.
The course comprised four weeks of theoretical training followed by two weeks of practical flying, as mentioned in the statement.
This integrated training approach equipped officers with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of instrument flying, which is crucial for contemporary air operations in challenging weather and tactical conditions.
Earlier on Friday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh observed a remarkable demonstration of the Indian Air Force’s precision, speed, and operational capability during the Vayushakti-26 Exercise at Pokhran, Rajasthan.
In a post on X, he remarked, “From frontline fighters to advanced air defense systems and indigenous platforms, the exercise mirrored the strengthening of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and our expanding multi-domain capabilities. Guided by the principle of ‘Achook, Abhedya aur Sateek’, our Air Warriors remain steadfast in protecting India’s skies and sovereignty.”
