Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, March 16 (NationPress) Celebrating the successful conclusion of four years under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Monday that his government has accomplished all promises made to the public through what he termed a “politics of work”.
Emphasizing the government’s significant accomplishments, the Chief Minister mentioned free electricity, uninterrupted power supply for farmers, and a remarkable 78 percent of fields benefiting from canal irrigation. Additionally, he noted the creation of 65,000 government jobs and approximately 5.5 lakh job opportunities.
Mann also spoke about the enhancement of healthcare services via Aam Aadmi Clinics, providing free treatment coverage up to Rs 10 lakh.
The Chief Minister highlighted initiatives like the anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashean Virudh”, unprecedented investments totaling Rs 1.55 lakh crore, and road safety reforms through the Sadak Surakhya Force, showcasing a commitment to rejuvenating Punjab.
Addressing opposition parties, Mann remarked that while Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and BJP focus on power struggles, the AAP government is dedicated to preserving Punjab's integrity and will not permit divisive politics to thrive in the state.
“The Punjab government has initiated a new era in politics by fulfilling all commitments within four years, unlike other parties that fail to do so even in five years,” he asserted.
After assuming office in 2022 at Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh’s village, the government made numerous decisions aimed at benefiting the populace.
“Alongside me, millions of Punjabis pledged to restore the state’s former glory,” he added.
Discussing the achievements of his administration, Mann stated: “In the last four years, the government has diligently worked for the people's welfare and delivered on its promises.”
He remarked that the upcoming year would focus on elevating Punjab to new heights of development and prosperity.
Mann highlighted what he called a transformation in education, noting: “Government schools now rank as the best in the nation according to a Government of India survey. No child in a government school sits on the floor anymore, as over one lakh desks have been provided to ensure every student can learn with dignity.”
On healthcare expansion, he mentioned that under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, every family in Punjab is entitled to free and cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh in top private hospitals.
“This is the world’s largest health insurance program,” Mann concluded.
