Afghan Authorities Seize 30 kg of Meth and Detain Seven Drug Traffickers

Kabul, Dec 8 (NationPress) The Afghan counter-narcotics police have successfully seized 30 kg of methamphetamine and apprehended seven drug traffickers in the provinces of Kunduz and Laghman, according to a statement from the country's Ministry of Interior released on Sunday.
This seizure occurred during a counter-narcotics operation conducted in the Khan Abad district of Kunduz. The statement noted that four individuals were arrested with the intent to smuggle these drugs.
Additionally, law enforcement in Afghanistan has also detained three individuals for their roles in the illegal sale and purchase of drugs in the area surrounding Mehtarlam, the capital of Laghman province, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
The Afghan caretaker government has prohibited the cultivation of illicit crops, including opium poppy and hashish, along with the processing, smuggling, and trade of narcotics across the nation.
