The apprehended individuals have been recognized as Kamlesh alias Gugo Parmar, aged 29, a resident of Chandkheda, and Mehul Parmar, aged 26, who has resided in various areas of Ahmedabad, including Shahpur and Vasna.
Both originally hail from the Banaskantha district.
According to the Crime Branch, Kamlesh is known for his criminal history, with at least ten prior incidents of house-breaking and theft logged against him across various police stations in Ahmedabad and beyond.
Officials disclosed that the suspects specifically targeted locked homes during festive periods. During their operation, the Crime Branch successfully traced and legally retrieved the entirety of the stolen items.
The recovered assets include Rs 45 lakh in cash, gold jewelry weighing 2,278.99 grams valued at around Rs 1.01 crore, silver jewelry weighing 557.4 grams worth approximately Rs 50,000, and diamond ornaments.
The cumulative value of the recovered items is estimated at nearly Rs 1.50 crore. Police confirmed that further legal actions are in progress against the suspects under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The Crime Branch is also exploring potential links between the duo and similar burglary incidents reported in other regions of the city.
