Ahmedabad, Nov 26 (NationPress) As part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, the district of Ahmedabad has successfully completed digital verification for over 70 percent of its registered voters.
To guarantee that no voter is overlooked, the district administration will organize special submission camps in all Assembly constituencies on November 29 and 30.
According to District Election Officer and Collector Sujit Kumar, Ahmedabad district has a total of 62,59,620 registered voters.
Out of these, 38,61,473 voters have already submitted their enumeration forms, while 5,11,123 voters have been flagged due to categories like relocation, duplicate entries, or deceased status.
Thus far, data for 43,90,817 voters has been digitized, marking a 70.15 percent completion rate of the district’s total voter base. Meanwhile, BLOs and their teams are continuing door-to-door visits to collect the remaining 18,40,341 pending forms.
To facilitate this process, the administration will provide special voter enumeration camps at designated locations within each Assembly constituency.
The special enumeration camps will be active on Saturday, November 29, from 12 PM to 5 PM, and on Sunday, November 30, from 10 AM to 5 PM, enabling voters to submit their pending forms at specified locations across all Assembly constituencies.
Voters can submit their completed enumeration forms at these camps, along with any valid documents recognized by the Election Commission of India, to enhance the accuracy of the voter list. The Collector has urged all eligible voters to cooperate and submit their pending forms promptly.
The SIR initiative aims to create a clean, error-free, and transparent electoral roll, thereby reinforcing the foundation of democracy. Citizens are encouraged to view this as a civic duty and make full use of the special camps to ensure their names are accurately listed in the voter registry.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll is vital as it guarantees that the voter list is precise, updated, and devoid of errors, allowing every eligible citizen to exercise their democratic rights without hindrances.
By verifying entries, eliminating duplicates or relocated voters, and incorporating new or corrected details, SIR fortifies the integrity of elections and helps maintain a clean, transparent, and trustworthy electoral roll that constitutes the backbone of a healthy democracy.
