Mumbai, March 26 (NationPress) The chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar declared on Wednesday that the party will prioritize nominating those workers in all forthcoming elections in Maharashtra who have played a vital role in the NCP’s expansion.
This announcement came after Snehal Jagtap, a leader from Shiv Sena (UBT) hailing from Mahad in the Konkan area, joined the NCP.
“The NCP has always been unwavering in its support for its workers, which is why our cadres must strengthen their ties with the party. To continue the legacy of progressive ideals, Snehal Jagtap has joined our ranks,” he stated.
“I have had a long-standing relationship with the late veteran Congress leader Manikrao Jagtap. Snehal Jagtap, who is his daughter, will help bridge that gap,” the NCP chief remarked.
He further mentioned, “The party is gaining momentum in Konkan, and Snehal Jagtap’s inclusion is a significant uplift. In politics, there are no permanent foes.”
He recalled the consistent support from Konkan for the NCP, also highlighting leaders like Deepak Kesarkar, Bhaskar Jadhav, Uday Samant, Sanjay Kadam, and Mandatai Mhatre, who have emerged from the party.
“We have always been committed to the comprehensive development of Konkan. I am continuously working towards improving infrastructure in the region,” Pawar remarked.
He affirmed, “We will never waver from the principles of Shiv, Shahu, Phule, and Ambedkar. Let us further fortify the party.”
“A party cannot flourish through speeches alone; it must engage with the public and take action. We will uphold the trust you have placed in us,” Pawar assured the new office bearers.
Meanwhile, Sunil Tatkare, the Maharashtra NCP President and MP, expressed optimism that numerous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) office-bearers will soon join the party, reaffirming their faith in Ajit Pawar’s leadership.
Tatkare pointed out that Manikrao Jagtap successfully established a formidable presence in the Raigad district, and the residents of Mahad-Poladpur have extended significant support.
He added, “Since assuming power at both the state and national levels, we have initiated several welfare projects. Many are joining the party today due to its commitment to secularism. In the land where Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar advocated for social equality, the party will always support you.”
“In the Mahad-Poladpur Assembly constituency, I garnered 92,000 votes but was not victorious. Nevertheless, I am thankful to those who supported me and even those who opposed me,” said former Mahad Mayor Snehal Jagtap.
