Mumbai, July 8 (NationPress) Actor Akshay Nalwade, known for his role as Garud Dev in “Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyag Tandav”, discussed the challenges of being typecast due to his athletic physique. He emphasized that he primarily receives offers for roles that depict action or tough characters, especially warriors in mythological narratives.
“Due to my athletic build, I have encountered a certain level of typecasting. I frequently receive roles that are action-oriented or involve tough personas,” Akshay mentioned.
He continued, “However, that’s merely one aspect of typecasting I’ve faced. Throughout my career, I’ve portrayed a diverse range of characters. I’ve never aimed to challenge societal norms through my performances, as I hold deep respect for culture, religion, generation, and region.
According to Akshay, everyone possesses their own beliefs and moral guidelines.
“I would never intend to challenge or offend anyone through my work. If I were to take on such a role, I would ensure it is portrayed in a manner that respects all sentiments,” he stated.
He believes there is still an abundant wealth of history in the country that deserves further exploration.
“I am a steadfast believer in my religion, culture, generation, and region. I also consider myself a proud desh bhakt (patriot). It’s unfortunate that many Indians have limited awareness of our true heroes—our kings and our history,” Akshay expressed.
“Today, it seems people are more informed about other nations than about our own. Cinema serves as an excellent medium for teaching, learning, and uncovering the beauty of our country—both past and present. In the future, I would love to portray real-life characters whose narratives are waiting to be shared,” he added.
Regarding “Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Tandav”, the show depicts the first love story of the universe by exploring the journey of Shiva and Shakti. It is produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary's Swastik Productions and features Ram Yashvardhan and Subha Rajput.
The series focuses on Lord Shiva and his wife, Goddess Parvati, as they navigate their relationship and responsibilities, making sacrifices and enduring separation to selflessly support humanity.
