Guwahati, Feb 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, remarked on Thursday that the state's shifting demographics represent an 'alarming call'. He emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to prioritizing the protection of Assembly constituencies, focusing on the future of Assam.

During a press interaction, CM Sarma pointed out that the matter of demographic alterations carries significant implications for social cohesion, cultural identity, and the long-term progress of the state.

"The shifting demographics in Assam are indeed an alarming call. In light of this, the BJP will concentrate on safeguarding key Assembly constituencies, as ensuring the future of Assam is our utmost priority," he stated.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the BJP's political approach will be informed by the necessity to uphold the interests of native communities while fostering inclusive growth for all societal segments.

He noted that the BJP-led administration has consistently implemented measures to tackle issues related to illegal immigration, land protection, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Regarding the forthcoming Jana Ashirwad Yatra in Assam, CM Sarma remarked that this outreach initiative aims not only to showcase the state's governmental accomplishments but also to forge direct connections with citizens throughout Assam.

"The Jana Ashirwad Yatra of Assam BJP serves a dual purpose: to share our government's successes and to seek the blessings of the populace," he added.

This yatra is an avenue for party leaders to engage with the community's hopes and concerns at the grassroots level, assisting in the development of policies and programs that align with public expectations.

Chief Minister Sarma reiterated that the BJP's initiatives in sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, job creation, and social welfare have established a robust foundation for Assam's advancement.
