New Delhi, Dec 1 (NationPress) On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his warm wishes to the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and their families in honor of their Raising Day, while paying tribute to the valiant souls who lost their lives in service.
The BSF, a key component of the central armed police under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), marks its Raising Day every year on December 1. This date commemorates the formation of the first sector of the Punjab Frontier of the BSF, established on December 1, 1965, with its headquarters located in Jalandhar.
In a post on X, HM Shah expressed, "Warm wishes to BSF members and their families on their Raising Day. This force, synonymous with fiery patriotism, has consistently upheld the nation’s honor and safeguarded the well-being of citizens with unwavering resolve and exceptional bravery."
He added, "The enduring flame of patriotism they have nurtured through supreme sacrifice will continue to guide future generations of Indians. A heartfelt salute to the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty."
Manoj Sinha, the LG of Jammu and Kashmir, also shared his greetings, stating, "On this day, I extend my regards to all officers, jawans, veterans, and their families. The BSF, India's first line of defense, has demonstrated remarkable courage and unwavering dedication to securing our borders. The nation honors its professionalism, discipline, and sacrifice."
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to X as well, noting, "Perpetually vigilant in protecting the nation's borders, the BSF, as the sentinel of our motherland's integrity and honor, sends heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all its courageous soldiers and their families on this BSF Raising Day."
This year, the BSF is celebrating its 61st Raising Day. In their message to the personnel and their families, the force stated, "On this 61st BSF Day, the Seema Prahari reaffirm their steadfast commitment to securing the borders of Bharat and contributing to the nation's mission of building a stronger society."
"With unwavering courage and relentless dedication, the Border Security Force stands resolute against all challenges along both the western and eastern frontiers, serving as the nation’s first line of defense," they added.
