New Delhi, Sep 26 (NationPress) The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, is set to unveil the Yamuna Rejuvenation initiative on September 30, as announced by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday.
As part of the “Seva Pakhwada” celebrations in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, projects valued at Rs 4,000 crore, including the Yamuna Rejuvenation Plan, will be inaugurated.
During the launch of a solid waste-to-compressed biogas facility in the city, CM Gupta emphasized the government's dedication to reviving the river and tackling pollution systematically.
On the same day, she also inaugurated a solar energy plant in Rithala and a 100-tonne-per-day (TPD) compressed biogas (CBG) facility along with an integrated CBG-CNG fuel station at Ghogha Dairy. She noted that the biogas plant exemplifies the city’s transition towards green energy.
Earlier, on September 20, the Chief Minister had also inaugurated a 200 TPD biogas facility in Nangli Dairy.
In a post on X, CM Gupta shared that a modern 25-kilowatt solar rooftop has been installed on the Delhi Jal Board building in Rithala, which will produce over 28,000 units of clean energy annually. She added that advanced solar plants will be established on government buildings in the future.
Additionally, the foundation stone for a 66 kV grid sub-station in Mubarakpur Dabas has been laid, which will provide uninterrupted and quality power to 16 feeder areas, including Karala and nearby regions. A state-of-the-art fire station has also been inaugurated in Narela, equipped with modern tools and robust disaster management systems.
CM Gupta stated that alongside these initiatives, Delhi is addressing longstanding issues while paving new avenues for progress.
“The now-flood-free Minto Bridge, e-buses on the roads, and the decreasing heaps of garbage stand as testaments to our efforts. We are committed to ensuring that no area of Delhi and no underprivileged individual is overlooked, progressing towards a developed Delhi and a developed India,” CM Gupta concluded.
