Why Did Big B Pause the ‘KBC’ Shoot?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Dec 17 (NationPress) Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan disclosed that he had to pause the filming of his quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” abruptly after a contestant’s husband, who was with her, unexpectedly fell ill.
The iconic star took to his blog to explain that the recording was halted right as the contestant arrived at the hot seat. Although the medical situation was stable, he expressed that it would be morally inappropriate to proceed with the game.
He noted on his blog: “...then had to do 3 episodes...one earlier I halted as soon as the contestant sat down, because her husband, who was her companion, fell unwell... he was okay... but I believed it would not be ethical to continue the game while her husband is not feeling well... it would distract her mind and hinder her focus on the game... (sic).”
The 80-year-old further mentioned that he communicated his choice to the production crew and recommended postponing the shoot to give the contestant’s husband some time to recuperate.
Despite the constraints of broadcasting, the veteran actor agreed to work additional hours and film three episodes in one day instead of the typical two.
“I informed Production I would shoot another day, allowing time for the husband to heal, even if it meant, due to broadcast limits - to film extra and produce 3 episodes instead of the usual 2 per day (sic),” he remarked.
The film icon is currently hosting the latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is the official Hindi version of the popular Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise.
The show's format involves contestants answering multiple-choice questions, selecting the correct answer from four options, and utilizing lifelines if unsure. It is broadcasted on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
