Mumbai, Oct 6 (NationPress) Legendary Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, the host of the quiz-based reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, recently opened up about his initial experience working alongside the versatile Farhan Akhtar.

In a newly released promo for an upcoming episode, Big B fondly recalled his time on the sets of ‘Lakshya’ with Farhan. The clip features him sharing an anecdote with Farhan's father, renowned screenwriter Javed Akhtar, stating, “We have also done a film, that film was ‘Lakshya’. What was my experience of working with him? He came to our room at night. He said, ‘Amit uncle, are you having some problem?’ For the first time, I felt that I am a novice. And this master is sitting and telling me, look son, I will tell you how to act. You should do this.”

Bachchan has a deep-rooted connection with Farhan’s father. It was Javed Akhtar, alongside his writing partner Salim Khan, who revolutionized commercial Hindi cinema during the 1970s. The duo penned 12 consecutive hits that helped establish Big B as the iconic angry young man, securing his status as one of India’s greatest stars.

The persona of the angry young man was brought to life thanks to Salim-Javed’s creativity, leading to Big B’s rise as a dominant force in the 1970s, effectively eclipsing Rajesh Khanna’s reign.

Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar were behind several of Big B’s legendary films, including ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Deewaar’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Don’, and ‘Trishul’. Their collaboration not only transformed Bachchan’s on-screen character but also redefined mainstream Hindi cinema with socially relevant narratives.

Farhan Akhtar later remade the Amitabh Bachchan classic ‘Don’ in two parts, featuring Shah Rukh Khan as the new-age Don.
