Amaravati, March 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, announced on Wednesday that the coalition government has successfully reinstated investors’ trust in the state and rejuvenated Brand Andhra.
During his address in the Assembly, the Chief Minister remarked that the period from 2019 to 2024 saw significant damage to the brand AP. A report from the RBI indicated that 913 companies ceased operations between 2019-20 and 2023-24.
He asserted that under the current coalition administration, Andhra Pradesh has established itself as a leading hub for business. With the implementation of 26 policies, approvals are being expedited, he noted.
Furthermore, the government has granted industrial status to tourism. Industrial parks are being developed across all 175 constituencies, with industrial incentives totaling Rs 210 crore already released.
Within a span of 20 months, he has facilitated the creation of 6.28 lakh jobs in the state. Out of these, 2.48 lakh jobs were generated in MSMEs, 1.46 lakh through Skill Development initiatives, 95,000 in industries, and 64,000 in the food processing sector. Additionally, 30,500 government jobs were created through Mega DSC, police constable recruitment, and various government appointments.
Naidu revealed that at the recent Investors’ Summit in Visakhapatnam, investments totaling Rs 13.25 lakh crore were secured, with the potential to create 16 lakh jobs.
He informed the House that the government is committed to achieving balanced regional development. Key areas such as Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Tirupati are being enhanced as economic hubs. Andhra Pradesh aspires to become a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, with Visakhapatnam positioned to emerge as a center for Information Technology and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The Chief Minister mentioned the influx of unprecedented investments into Visakhapatnam.
To sustain these investments, the government has established an escrow account for industrial incentives.
Amaravati has also launched India’s first Quantum Computer Valley, aiming to mirror the success of Silicon Valley in the US by becoming a destination for Quantum computing.
Tirupati is set to be developed into a hub for space, electronics, and defense industries.
For the first time in India, a Universal Health Policy applicable to all citizens is being introduced, which will offer free medical services up to Rs 2.5 lakh. The government is working to ensure affordable healthcare.
New medical colleges are being established under the PPP model. Unlike the previous administration, which failed to allocate land for medical colleges, the current government aims to set up 100-bed hospitals in every constituency. The Chief Minister clarified that the PPP model does not equate to privatization; government ownership of assets will be maintained, adhering to government regulations for services.
Through the Sanjeevani project, digital health records are being created for every citizen, with the coalition government’s objective being to provide quality healthcare for all.
