Amaravati, Jan 19 (NationPress) - The NDA government has successfully revitalized the brand image of Andhra Pradesh over the last 18 months, as stated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.
He highlighted that due to these efforts, Andhra Pradesh has attracted 25 percent of the total investments in the country.
While addressing the Telugu Diaspora in Zurich, the Chief Minister announced that Google is set to establish an AI data center in Visakhapatnam, and RSLR Mittal will invest Rs 1 lakh crore in a steel plant. Additionally, AM Green is planning a significant investment in a Green Ammonia plant in Kakinada.
The event saw participation from the Telugu community across 20 countries, organized on the initial day of the Chief Minister’s four-day visit to attend the World Economic Forum.
He mentioned ongoing efforts to secure an investment of Rs 22 lakh crore aiming to generate employment for 20 lakh youth. Drawing a parallel with the development of the small country of Liechtenstein, he emphasized the state government's focus on areas like Quantum computing, AI, Space, and Drone technologies, while also prioritizing health initiatives like the upcoming Sanjeevani health programme.
The Chief Minister noted that the Andhra Pradesh government has set aside a Rs.50 crore corpus fund aimed at encouraging Non-Resident Telugus (NRTs) to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.
He urged NRTs to transition from being employees to becoming job creators through entrepreneurship, asserting that innovative ideas can facilitate this transition.
To support NRTs in their entrepreneurial journeys, the Andhra Pradesh government has arranged a Rs 50 crore corpus fund, with additional guidance offered through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub.
The responsibility of fostering NRT entrepreneurship has been delegated to ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharath, and Union Minister Rammohan Naidu.
With Telugu individuals residing in 195 countries, NRTs from Andhra Pradesh are represented in 148 countries.
Extending an invitation for NRTs to invest in Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister expressed the state government's readiness to assist them in their entrepreneurial pursuits. He advised employed couples among NRTs to consider entrepreneurship as a means of job creation, asserting that whether in foreign lands or when returning to Andhra Pradesh, the government stands ready to provide necessary support.
Furthermore, the Andhra Pradesh government is facilitating students in pursuing overseas education by backing education loans at a favorable four percent interest rate.
He announced plans for AP FIRST, the largest research center to be established in Tirupati, aimed at promoting innovation and creativity to generate employment opportunities for the youth. The Chief Minister expressed optimism that by 2047, India would position itself as a global leader, with Andhra Pradesh aspiring to be at the forefront within the nation.
