Visakhapatnam, Nov 14 (NationPress) Andhra Pradesh has successfully attracted investment commitments totaling Rs 11,91,972 crore after signing MoUs with 400 companies over a span of two days.
These agreements, finalized on Thursday and during the first day of the CII Partnership Summit on Friday, are projected to generate employment for 13.32 lakh youth.
An official statement revealed that 41 MoUs were inked in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Of these, 324 MoUs were signed with an investment amount of Rs. 8,41,786 crores in the presence of various ministers. The majority of these agreements were made with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), along with sectors including energy, food processing, industry, trade, IT, and municipal departments.
Chief Minister Naidu urged the chairman of a private firm to source agricultural products directly from farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
According to him, the private mall will not merely serve as a shopping destination but will also enhance tourism in Visakhapatnam.
In a significant move, the Singapore government formalized an MoU with Andhra Pradesh for collaboration in urban governance, digital transformation, and sustainability, in the presence of Chief Minister Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh, Singapore Minister Gan Siow Huang, Union Minister K Rammohan Naidu, and state Minister Nadendla Manohar.
During the event, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Singapore, known for its innovative industrial practices.
Minister Lokesh highlighted that this marks a promising start for cooperation with Singapore.
Union Minister Rammohan Naidu also announced the impending introduction of flights connecting Vijayawada and Singapore three times a week.
