Amaravati, Dec 17 (NationPress) The overall economic growth rate of Andhra Pradesh is on a robust upward path, significantly surpassing the national average during the second quarter (Q2) and sustaining strong growth momentum in the first half of the year, as noted by a senior official on Wednesday.
Peeyush Kumar, Principal Secretary of Planning, provided an extensive analysis of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the 5th Collectors’ conference held here.
He detailed the current economic performance of Andhra Pradesh, alongside its medium-term targets and long-term development aspirations.
According to Peeyush Kumar, the Gross Value Added (GVA) growth rate in Andhra Pradesh increased from 10.26 percent in Q2 of 2024-25 to 11.30 percent in Q2 of 2025-26, showcasing widespread sectoral progress. Concurrently, the GSDP growth rose from 10.17 percent to 11.28 percent, reinforcing the State's impressive economic performance.
In contrast, he pointed out that the All-India GDP growth for Q2 2025-26 was recorded at 8.7 percent, an improvement from 8.3 percent in the same quarter of the previous year, highlighting Andhra Pradesh's superior growth path compared to the national figure.
The Principal Secretary emphasized that Andhra Pradesh is poised for a significant economic transformation, with projections extending to 2047-48 indicating a transition towards a service-oriented growth model.
The services sector is anticipated to contribute over 55 percent of the State’s GSDP by 2047-48. Additionally, he mentioned that the per capita GSDP is expected to rise from Rs 2.66 lakh in 2023-24 to more than Rs 54 lakh by 2047-48, aligning with the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 and Viksit Bharat 2047.
Regarding governance and assessment, Peeyush Kumar highlighted the Swarna Andhra Vision Monitoring Framework, a digital platform that tracks 643 KPIs, including 231 economic indicators and 116 social indicators linked to the SDGs. This system enables real-time assessment at State, district, constituency, and mandal levels, enhancing outcome-focused planning and data-driven governance.
He stated that the integration of GSDP estimates, KPIs, and SDGs into a cohesive monitoring framework will facilitate sustained high growth while ensuring inclusive, balanced, and sustainable development throughout all regions of Andhra Pradesh.
