Amaravati, Aug 5 (NationPress) The Minister of Human Resources Development and Information Technology for Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh, announced on Tuesday that the state is experiencing a robust economic revival.
Lokesh, the son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, shared this information on the social media platform X.
In July 2025, Andhra Pradesh achieved a remarkable Rs 3,803 crore in GST collections, marking the highest since the introduction of the GST in 2017, alongside a 14 percent year-on-year increase.
He stated, "This represents the highest GST growth rate among South Indian states and ranks third among the larger states across the nation. Andhra Pradesh is back, and we are just getting started," Lokesh remarked.
Additionally, Lokesh is set to speak at a green-skilling conference in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
The state government emphasized that Andhra Pradesh is becoming the focal point of the nation's green workforce revolution.
With the initiation of what is touted as India's largest green skilling initiative, Andhra Pradesh is making significant strides to establish itself as a key player in the global clean energy economy.
Over 250 industry leaders, top government officials, and essential development partners will attend the event titled "Empowering India's Green Future: Andhra Pradesh as the Talent Hub for Solar and Wind Energy".
This high-profile assembly marks the official commencement of a transformative initiative aimed at equipping thousands of young individuals in the state with skills in solar and wind energy technologies, covering areas from manufacturing and installation to operations and maintenance.
Organized by the Swaniti Initiative in close collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), the event signifies a major shift in aligning workforce development with climate resilience and industrial growth, according to an official statement.
With over 160 GW of renewable energy potential, Andhra Pradesh is uniquely positioned to be not only a hub for green energy production but also a global talent exporter in the clean energy sector.
The keynote speeches will be delivered by Nara Lokesh and State Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar.
"This isn’t just a skilling event; it’s a mission to empower Andhra Pradesh's youth to lead India's green revolution," stated a senior official.
