The incident unfolded while Baluni was en route to Rishikesh after visiting regions impacted by calamity in Chamoli and Rudraprayag.
As he was returning, he halted upon spotting a landslide. Stepping out of his vehicle to alert others, he was caught off guard as a significant section of the mountainside crumbled, prompting him to flee for safety.
Describing this harrowing event on X, the Garhwal MP expressed, "The devastating cloudburst and landslides in Uttarakhand this year have inflicted wounds that will take considerable time to mend. I am sharing a chilling glimpse of a landslide in the disaster-stricken area, which speaks volumes about the severe natural disaster affecting our Uttarakhand right now."
"I pray to Baba Kedarnath for the safety, health, and well-being of all. In this time of crisis, I commend the commitment of officials, NDRF-SDRF personnel, and the administration, along with the workers who are tirelessly clearing roads under harsh conditions," he noted.
