Anil Kapoor Reflects on His Late Father Surinder Kapoor's 99th Birth Anniversary: A Deep Sense of Loss

Mumbai, Dec 23 (NationPress) On the 99th birth anniversary of Surinder Kapoor this Monday, Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor paid tribute to his late producer-father, expressing that his simplicity, honesty, and joy not only characterized him but also provided meaning to his life.

Anil posted a collection of vintage monochrome photographs on Instagram showcasing his father alongside prominent figures such as Raj Kapoor, RD Burman, Shashi Kapoor, and Parveen Babi, among other legendary personalities.

In his heartfelt message, Anil shared: “Today marks my dad’s 99th birthday. His simplicity, honesty, and joy were not just defining traits; they gave our lives meaning.”

“His presence was incredibly magnetic. Although I miss him profoundly, the memories and lessons he imparted continue to guide me each day, enveloping my life with strength and warmth. Here’s to the enduring legacy of a truly remarkable man, who remains my greatest inspiration…”

Surinder Kapoor, the father of Anil, Boney Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor, passed away from a cardiac arrest in September 2011 at the age of 85.

He began his film journey as a secretary to the Hindi film star of the 1950s, Geeta Bali, who was married to his nephew, Shammi Kapoor. The Dada Saheb Phalke Academy recognized him with the Shri L V Prasad Phalke award in 2009.

His debut successful Hindi production was “Shehzada,” directed by K. Shankar, a remake of the Tamil film “Idhu Sathiyam,” released in 1963. His next film, Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshanand Bikash Rao, did not perform well at the box office.

In the 1980s, he produced notable films such as Hum Paanch, Woh Saat Din, Loafer, Judaai, Sirf Tum, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, and Pukar.

On the professional front, Anil is set to star in “Subedaar,” a film about Arjun Maurya, a former soldier navigating life as a civilian. He faces both personal and societal challenges while attempting to repair his strained relationship with his daughter, Shyama, portrayed by Radhikka Madan. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni and produced by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor, and Triveni.

Following that, he will appear in ‘War 2,’ where he will share the screen with Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Telugu superstar NTR Jr., known for ‘RRR’.

Additionally, he has a project titled ‘Alpha’ in the pipeline, where he will feature alongside Bollywood sensation Alia Bhatt and actress Sharvari from ‘Munjya’.
