Mumbai, Feb 27 (NationPress) Bollywood star Anil Kapoor is grieving the loss of Hollywood icon Gene Hackman. On Thursday, Anil took to his X account, previously known as Twitter, to share a collection of images of the late legend along with a heartfelt message.
He expressed, “It’s hard to comprehend a world without Gene Hackman. His remarkable performances in films such as ‘The French Connection,’ ‘Unforgiven,’ and ‘The Firm’ are just a few instances where we witnessed his extraordinary talent. A genuine legend whose legacy will endure. Rest in peace.”
Gene and his spouse, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, were discovered deceased on Wednesday afternoon at their residence in Santa Fe.
According to a statement from County Sheriff Adan Mendoza shared with the Santa Fe New Mexican and reported by The Guardian, “We can confirm that both Gene Hackman and his wife were found deceased Wednesday.”
Sheriff Mendoza mentioned there was no immediate evidence of foul play. He did not disclose the cause of death or the time of the couple's passing. Hackman, aged 95, had resided in Santa Fe, New Mexico, since the 1980s and married Arakawa, aged 63, in 1991 after meeting her at the gym where she worked.
Previously, Anil praised Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, for his directorial debut, likening him to a younger version of Manmohan Desai.
