Slated to occur over an 11-day span in October at the Yamuna Sports Complex in New Delhi, this pioneering league has garnered support from World Archery, World Archery Asia, and the Sports Ministry of India.
Participants will include top foreign archers from the global top 10 rankings, alongside elite Indian archers, all representing six franchise teams.
With an innovative team structure previously unseen in global archery, recurve and compound archers will shoot at 70m and 50m, respectively, under lights, fostering a competitive environment that aims to elevate the performance levels of Indian archers.
Arjun Munda, President of the Archery Association of India, expressed, “The dream we have envisioned resonates with countless young archers across India's villages, who aspire to showcase their talents on an international platform.
“We are optimistic that this Archery League will help realize these dreams and provide greater opportunities. Let’s unite to launch this league, propelling the sport to new heights in our country.”
Virendra Sachdeva, Secretary General of the Archery Association of India, remarked, “Our archers have consistently brought honor to the nation through their outstanding performances globally. Their achievements highlight their dedication, talent, and the elevating standards of Indian archery.

This league is not just a competition; it is a vital step towards fulfilling India’s Olympic aspirations.”
Tom Dielen, Secretary General of World Archery, stated, “I am thrilled about this initiative as it will significantly enhance our sport’s visibility and foster a competitive atmosphere for Indian archers and their international counterparts, helping them improve their skills.”
The league aspires to bolster the growth of Indian archers, aiding the national Olympic movement and increasing the global appeal of the sport. It is designed to serve as a professional platform that fortifies the entire archery ecosystem both in India and worldwide.
