Guwahati, March 20 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, emphasized on Friday that the preservation of the state's cultural and religious heritage is a fundamental obligation of the government, asserting that supporting these traditions is a matter of responsibility rather than mere charity. In addition, over 8,000 Puja Committees are being granted Rs 10,000 each to ensure the smooth execution of religious celebrations.
The government is also providing a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500 to 620 Udasin Bhakats, acknowledging their crucial role in safeguarding spiritual traditions and community practices.
CM Sarma reiterated the commitment of the BJP-led government in Assam to protect and promote the state’s diverse cultural heritage.
