Guwahati, Jan 18 (NationPress) The Industry Minister of Assam, Bimal Borah, who recently visited London to engage potential investors for the forthcoming 'Advantage Assam 2.0' summit in Guwahati, emphasized that the state is now an appealing destination for investment due to significant improvements in the law and order conditions in recent years.
Borah addressed industry stakeholders in London, stating, "Assam is an attractive investment destination owing to its tourism potential and various other factors. We have successfully navigated numerous challenges. The law and order situation has improved considerably, and infrastructure has seen substantial advancements in recent times."
He noted that a variety of measures have been implemented to establish Assam as a prime investment hub, alongside the initiation of an outreach program.
"I am here to engage with industry leaders to provide insights about Assam and its current landscape," Borah mentioned, highlighting that since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office and the BJP took over from the Congress government in Assam in 2016, there has been a significant uplift in several sectors.
He remarked, "Assam is making progress across various sectors. The government has achieved remarkable success in the power sector."
The state government has prioritized the enhancement of roads and other infrastructure facilities, he added.
An important investor summit, Advantage Assam 2.0, is scheduled to take place in Guwahati on February 25 and 26.
