Anticipating the Arrival of Leading Industry Figures in Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati/Mumbai, Jan 7 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Monday that his recent engagement with leading industrialists in Mumbai proved to be fruitful. The state government is optimistic about attracting numerous potential investors during the forthcoming investment and infrastructure summit, known as Advantage Assam, scheduled to take place in Guwahati in February.
Sarma participated in a promotional event in Mumbai aimed at enticing industrialists to invest in Assam. He emphasized that his administration is committed to transforming Assam into a desirable investment hub in the coming years. The Chief Minister has spent the last three days in Mumbai, engaging with several top-tier industrialists across the nation.
During his visit, Sarma met Noel Tata, the chairman of Tata Group, on Sunday, expressing his pleasure in their discussion. They deliberated on collaborative efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents and expand the Trust’s significant contributions to healthcare and education in Assam, especially in cancer care. Sarma extended an invitation for Tata to attend #AdvantageAssam2.
In addition, Sarma had conversations with Jeet Adani, the director of the Adani Group, and Anand Gopal Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, during his Mumbai visit.
“In my meeting with Shri Jeet Adani, Director of @AdaniOnline, the group showed an enthusiastic interest in exploring opportunities within the infrastructure, power, and defense sectors in Assam,” Sarma noted, adding that the Adani Group has extensive plans for industrial expansion in the state.
As per Chief Minister Sarma, the Advantage Assam event, set for February 24-25, will feature the traditional Jhumur dance of the tea tribe communities. He remarked, “This summit serves as a platform to present Assam's rich cultural heritage to an international audience while also attracting investors.”
The event will showcase an impressive performance of the Jhumur dance, featuring over 7,500 dancers and artists. The Chief Minister described it as an extraordinary spectacle, with preparations well underway for this cultural exhibition.
Sarma assured, “We will guarantee flawless execution through specialized training workshops, local sessions at the constituency level, district performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.”
The concert, planned for either day of the summit, is expected to leave a profound impact on attendees.
