Assam's Chief Minister Engages Business Leaders in Delhi for Investment Summit

Guwahati, Jan 7 (NationPress) Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is currently in the national capital on Tuesday for a series of meetings with business leaders in preparation for the forthcoming investor summit -- Advantage Assam in the state.

In a post on X, Sarma stated, “In the second phase of our #AdvantageAssam2 interactions, I am in Delhi today to engage with Ambassadors, business leaders, and representatives from Bilateral Chambers.”

Sarma recently spent three days in Mumbai where he discussed investment opportunities with top industrialists.

He highlighted that the government is committed to positioning Assam as an attractive destination for investors. He noted, “I concluded a highly productive visit to Mumbai with discussions involving the titans of India Inc. The business leaders are optimistic about the Assam Growth story and are eager to contribute to #AdvantageAssam2.”

During his time in Mumbai, the CM met with Noel Tata, chairman of the Tata group, on Sunday, expressing, “It was a great honor to meet Shri Noel Tata, the Chairman of @tatatrusts. We discussed how to synergize our efforts to enhance the living standards of our citizens and support the Trust’s significant contributions to Assam’s healthcare and education sectors, especially in cancer care. I also extended an invitation for him to attend #AdvantageAssam2.”

Additionally, Sarma engaged in discussions with Jeet Adani, director of the Adani group, and Anand Gopal Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra group, while in Mumbai.

“It was a true pleasure to meet Shri @anandmahindra. His enthusiasm for a modernized India and his intellectual acumen are commendable. I have invited him to collaborate with the Assam Government in our pursuit of industrial advancement,” he mentioned.

“During my meeting with Shri Jeet Adani, Director of @AdaniOnline, the group showed a strong interest in exploring opportunities within the infrastructure, power, and defense sectors in Assam,” Sarma added, noting that the Adani group has numerous plans for industry expansion in Assam.

“I am thrilled to see our state prominently featured in the Group’s expansion strategy,” he remarked.

As per Chief Minister Sarma, the Advantage Assam event, scheduled for February 24 and 25, will showcase the traditional Jhumur dance of the tea tribe clans.

Sarma emphasized, “This summit serves as a platform to present Assam's rich cultural heritage to a global audience while attracting investors.”

A spectacular performance of the Jhumur dance featuring over 7,500 dancers and artists will be a highlight of the event, which the CM described as an extraordinary show.
