Australia: Authorities Launch Investigation Following Discovery of Body Near Sydney Airport

Sydney, Dec 9 (NationPress) A significant police investigation has been launched after a body was found abandoned near Sydney Airport on Monday.
The body was uncovered by an individual on Monday morning in bushes adjacent to a major thoroughfare that runs alongside the airport in Sydney's inner-southern suburbs, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
According to reports from News Corp Australia newspapers, the body, which remains unidentified, was wrapped in plastic.
In a statement, the police in New South Wales (NSW) confirmed that a crime scene has been set up.
"Officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command are receiving assistance from specialist officers in the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad," the statement noted.
"A crime scene has been established, and an investigation into the incident has begun. No further information is available at this time," it added.
The location where the body was found is several hundred meters away from the airport's third runway, which primarily services aircraft on domestic routes.
