Victoria Police stated that a man in his 30s was stabbed near a bustling intersection on a major road in Prahran, roughly four kilometers southeast of central Melbourne, shortly before 8 am local time, according to Australia’s 9News network.

He was admitted to a nearby hospital in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries to his lower body.

On Tuesday, Northern Territory (NT) police reported a man was hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting in what appears to be a targeted attack in northern Australia.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the Coconut Grove suburb of Darwin around 7 pm local time on Monday.

Emergency crews treated a 23-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and transported him to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

A representative for the ambulance service informed News Corp Australia that the man was shot with a shotgun, causing pellet injuries to both legs.

NT Police arrested two males, aged 19 and 22, along with a 22-year-old female, in connection with the incident around 4 am local time on Tuesday in Katherine, located 270 kilometers southeast of Darwin.
