Bagaha, Sep 25 (NationPress) A sense of excitement is palpable in the Bagaha area of Bihar as countless women prepare to receive the inaugural disbursement of Rs 10,000 under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, set for release this Friday.

This groundbreaking program is designed to empower women through self-sufficient opportunities and is anticipated to assist over 7.5 million women throughout the state.

A collaborative effort between the Central government and the state administration led by Nitish Kumar, this initiative offers financial support to one eligible woman per family to foster entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance. The funds will be transferred directly to beneficiaries using Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring both transparency and efficiency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the scheme virtually, while Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will grace the event as the chief guest. Celebratory functions are planned across various districts to commemorate this occasion.

In interviews with IANS, local women in Bagaha expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the program.

Beneficiary Priyanka Devi shared, "I am feeling really good. Women are gaining the courage to start their own businesses. We won’t have to rely on others anymore."

Another resident, Meena Devi, stated, "I want to thank the government. This scheme brings happiness. Many women are planning to start small ventures, and it will truly help us become self-reliant."

Preeti Kumari remarked, "There is a wave of happiness among women. This initiative will not only empower us financially but also give us confidence and dignity."

The initiative's scale is enormous. With Rs 7,500 crore being allocated statewide, approximately 1.1 million women from both urban and rural locales will benefit in the initial rollout. The funds can be utilized to initiate or expand businesses in sectors such as farming, animal husbandry, tailoring, handicrafts, weaving, and other micro-enterprises.

This scheme aims to foster women's self-sufficiency, ultimately uplifting their families. Furthermore, women whose employment performance is assessed positively will be eligible for financial support of up to Rs 2 lakh.
