Quetta, Dec 19 (NationPress) In a troubling development, another Baloch woman has been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan amidst a growing trend of enforced disappearances in the region, as reported by a prominent human rights organization on Friday.
Expressing strong condemnation of this event, the Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) highlighted that Hajra Baloch, spouse of Sanaullah Baloch, was taken against her will by the Counter Terrorism Department and other agencies after she was apprehended from the Daru Hotel area of Hub Chowki in the province.
The organization emphasized that her illegal detention and subsequent disappearance symbolize a blatant violation of fundamental rights and due process, which constitutes a serious offense under international human rights law.
“This incident is part of a documented trend targeting Baloch women through enforced disappearances. Previous cases include Mahjabeen Baloch, who was taken from Quetta on May 29, 2025; Nasreena Baloch, taken from Hub Chowki on November 22, 2025; Raheema Baloch, who disappeared from Dalbandin on December 9, 2025; and Farzana Baloch, who was taken from Khuzdar on December 1, 2025. These occurrences illustrate a systematic policy of oppression and collective punishment,” stated the BVJ.
The organization urged the United Nations, international human rights groups, and independent media outlets to take immediate notice of these serious violations by Pakistani authorities. They added that the prompt recovery of all forcibly disappeared Baloch women and accountability for the perpetrators remain critical responsibilities under international law, reiterating that silence regarding these atrocities only perpetuates impunity.
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) expressed significant alarm over the alarming increase in the enforced disappearance of Baloch women at the hands of Pakistani forces throughout Balochistan.
The rights organization accused Pakistani forces of increasingly utilizing the abduction of women as a “routine tool of oppression” within the province. According to the HRCB, nine cases of enforced disappearance of Baloch women were recorded in 2025 alone.
“These incidents reveal a disturbing trend of collective punishment and the systematic dismantling of legal protections. Women from various backgrounds, including students, health professionals, homemakers, and human rights advocates, have been seized through house raids and nocturnal operations. Numerous victims have endured repeated disappearances and torture, and at least one case tragically resulted in custodial death,” it stated.
The rights organization emphasized that the involvement of Pakistan’s security forces, including the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Frontier Corps (FC), and Military Intelligence (MI), highlights the institutional nature of these violations.
