Chennai, Oct 9 (NationPress) Telugu Titans head coach Krishan Kumar Hooda expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his all-rounder. The seasoned player acknowledged the contributions of the entire team management and staff for their unwavering performances.
The Telugu Titans continued their undefeated run in the Chennai leg of PKL 12 with a decisive 46-29 victory over the Haryana Steelers at the SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. Bharat Hooda had an impressive outing, scoring 20 points—comprising 16 raid points and 4 tackle points—which helped the team extend their winning streak to five matches.
“Bharat has been exceptional for us this season,” he stated.
“The credit goes to our entire support staff, coaches, and the CEO. We invested time in a long pre-season camp where we employed various training techniques. The physiotherapists also deserve recognition for ensuring our players remain fit. Even in cases of injury, they work diligently to facilitate a player's quick return within one or two days. Our collective goal is always to enhance our performance as a team,” he added.
In another vein, Titans' captain Vijay Malik shared his philosophy on leadership. He mentioned, “The team’s unity is strong, but we refrain from overly restricting the players or inundating them with instructions during the game. While we occasionally offer advice, we fundamentally believe in granting players the freedom to express themselves.”
Hooda commended his captain for fostering team unity and bringing out the best in his players. He remarked, “When we acquired Vijay during the auction, we were confident he would be our captain. More than a coach, a captain can unlock a team’s potential, and he is achieving that. All players heed his guidance, which is a key reason for our excellent team cohesion.”
Despite the Titans' dominant performance against the Haryana Steelers, the two coaches exchanged mutual respect and admiration at the game's end.
Hooda provided insights into his rapport with Steelers head coach Manpreet Singh. “Manpreet and I spent three years together in the India camp. He sometimes displays a bit of emotion, which is natural in competitive sports,” he said.
“He (Manpreet) has been coaching for the last six to seven years and has achieved commendable success as a head coach. He clinched the title last season, and I believe he will ensure his team rebounds this season as well,” Hooda concluded.
