Patna, July 14 (NationPress) In light of growing concerns regarding the uptick in crime rates in Bihar, Labour Resources Minister Santosh Singh issued a serious warning on Monday to those engaging in criminal activities, asserting that under the NDA government, "anyone who fires a bullet will face consequences".
During a press briefing in Patna, Singh underlined that no criminal will escape justice in Bihar.
He noted that during the tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav and the RJD, residents were hesitant to venture outside after dark due to safety concerns, but this has markedly improved under the present administration.
“There was an era when families dreaded letting their loved ones out in the evening, uncertain of their safe return. Today, the notorious criminals have been dealt with under the NDA government. Criminals in Bihar must remember: whoever fires a bullet will get shot,” Singh declared.
Singh also directed his criticism towards the opposition, accusing the Lalu family and other opposition parties of hindering the state's developmental initiatives and inciting unrest by criticizing the Nitish Kumar-led government.
“The opposition is persistently obstructing the ongoing voter list revision in Bihar, creating needless disputes to mislead the public. They profess to uphold the Constitution, yet their actions tell a different story,” he stated.
Singh clarified that the revision of the voter list aims to assess how many citizens in Bihar are reaping the benefits of government programs and to guarantee that every eligible resident receives the services offered by the state.
“Voter list revisions have happened in the past without any opposition. Now, the opposition is manufacturing unnecessary controversies for political advantage ahead of the elections,” Singh added.
He further noted that having a ration card, an electricity bill, and being listed on the voter roll are essential to access government benefits, emphasizing that the NDA government is dedicated to enhancing healthcare, education, and other public services in Bihar.
Santosh Singh, a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party and a member of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Cabinet, is a two-time Member of Legislative Council representing Rohtas.
