The young girl has been named Komal Kumari, daughter of Mantu Yadav, who resides in Kharjama village. The discovery of her body near the railway track has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Family members stated that Komal had gone to Barni High School in Dhanrua on Tuesday to participate in her Matriculation examination.
However, she allegedly arrived at the center at 9:07 a.m., after which the gates were already locked.
Despite her repeated pleas, she was not permitted to enter the examination hall.
The family reported that Komal returned home extremely upset after being barred from entering.
She subsequently changed her clothes and left the house, but unfortunately did not come back. Later that evening, the family was informed that a girl had been found dead near the railway track.
The deceased was later confirmed to be Komal Kumari.
Komal's parents are daily-wage laborers working outside the village. Her grandmother, residing in Maharajchak, identified the body around 9:30 p.m. after being notified by locals.
A family relative, Sunita Kumari, recounted, “She went to the Barni High School exam center, but arrived at 9:07 a.m. when the gate had already closed. She returned home very anxious, changed her clothing, and went out. In the evening, we learned that she had been struck by a train.”
Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
Investigations have begun based on the statements provided by family members.
Vivek Bharti, the Station House Officer at Masaurhi Police Station, confirmed the event, stating, “The body of a young woman identified as Komal Kumari from Kharjama village has been retrieved near the railway track. It is noteworthy that the Matriculation exams are conducted in two shifts.
The first shift starts at 9:30 a.m., with entry allowed only until 9:00 a.m., while the second shift kicks off at 2:00 p.m., with entry permitted until 1:30 p.m.
