Patna, Jan 25 (NationPress) In a heartbreaking event, a Class 10 student lost her life after a monkey pushed her off the rooftop of her residence in Bihar's Siwan district.
The incident took place in Maghar village, under the jurisdiction of the Bhagwanpur police station, on Saturday afternoon. The victim, Priya Kumar, was on the rooftop, enjoying the sun during the chilly weather.
Witnesses reported that a troop of monkeys appeared on the rooftop and began to intimidate her. Fear immobilized Priya, hindering her escape. As villagers raised an alarm, she gathered the courage to dash towards the stairs. Unfortunately, a monkey leaped aggressively and forcefully pushed her, resulting in her fall from the rooftop. Priya suffered critical injuries, including severe trauma to the back of her head and other areas of her body, causing her to lose consciousness.
In a frantic effort to save her, Priya’s family rushed her to Siwan Sadar Hospital for medical attention. Sadly, the medical staff declared her dead upon arrival, attributing the cause of death to multiple injuries.
Sujeet Kumar Chaudhary, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bhagwanpur police station, verified the incident, stating: “Upon receiving news of the incident, we proceeded to investigate. The family took the girl to Sadar Hospital, where she was pronounced dead due to multiple injuries. They opted not to conduct a post-mortem and have not filed any complaints,” Chaudhary detailed.
Local residents expressed their shock and grief over the event, explaining that the monkeys had been causing disturbances in the area for quite some time, and their aggressive actions ultimately led to this tragic occurrence.
