Patna, Dec 24 (NationPress) Following his appointment as the Home Minister in the Nitish Kumar administration, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has been actively working and has consistently emphasized that decisive measures will be enforced against criminals in Bihar.

On Wednesday, Samrat Choudhary made a bold statement regarding the law-and-order scenario, indicating that the majority of criminals have already escaped the state, and those that remain will be expelled within the upcoming three months.

These comments were made during the seventh death anniversary event of former Union Minister Jai Narayan Nishad, where he also launched a pointed critique against RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.

“While some criminals are still operating covertly, my sole focus is to rectify the crime landscape in Bihar. I am here to restore order and initiate a cleanliness campaign. Some criminals have already fled, and I am determined to remove those who remain in the next three months,” the Deputy Chief Minister asserted.

He stressed that every segment of society in Bihar desires effective governance, mentioning that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has always prioritized good governance, and the current administration is dedicated to fortifying law and order.

In a jab at Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samrat Choudhary referenced the free electricity initiative, noting that prior to the establishment of the NDA government, they had pledged 125 units of free electricity to the citizens of Bihar.

“Currently, the government allocates around Rs 19,000 crore for this initiative. Previously, Nitish Kumar provided electricity subsidies costing approximately Rs 16,000 crore. We have increased the budget by Rs 3,000 crore,” he elaborated.

He added that every household in Bihar benefits from 125 units of free electricity, including those of opposition leaders.

“Even when Lalu Prasad Yadav receives his electricity bill, he enjoys 125 units for free,” Choudhary pointed out.

Reflecting on Lalu Prasad Yadav's time as Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary remarked that Lalu was once a significant leader and famously said, ‘If there is no flood, how will we eat fish?’

“In contrast, the Nitish Kumar administration has been so effective that Bihar has exceeded several states in fish production. Soon, Bihar will also start exporting fish to Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh,” he concluded.

Point of View

It is vital to recognize the significance of the Deputy Chief Minister's promises amidst a complex political landscape. While addressing crime is crucial, consistent efforts and transparency are essential to ensure public trust in governance.
