Patna, Nov 25 (NationPress) The recently established Bihar government is taking clear shape as ministers take charge of their respective departments.
In this context, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary officially took over the Home Department on Tuesday.
During a press conference held at the Bihar Police Headquarters after assuming office, he sent a stern message to criminals.
Samrat Chaudhary remarked, “We have established effective governance in Bihar, and our efforts to enhance it are ongoing. Several directives have been issued for the betterment of law and order. Criminals, whether they are part of the land mafia, sand mafia, or liquor mafia, will be identified, and severe actions will be enforced against them.”
He further announced the introduction of a special police deployment and patrolling system in schools and colleges to ensure student safety.
A network of special pick-and-patrol teams will be stationed near educational institutions to prevent harassment and uphold discipline.
Police operations will conduct targeted campaigns around campuses to ensure safety, particularly for female students.
The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasized that the Bihar Police’s priority is to take decisive measures against criminals, ensure effective governance, and expedite legal proceedings.
He highlighted the need for stricter surveillance in jails. Mobile phone usage will be closely monitored, and jail authorities will be held accountable for any irregularities.
He stated that food in prisons will be distributed strictly according to medical recommendations, and any outside food found will lead to action against the responsible officials.
Regarding cybercrime, Samrat Chaudhary mentioned that a significant emphasis will be placed on addressing online fraud and abusive behavior on social media.
“Anyone who harasses or abuses others online will face legal repercussions. No one will be exempt,” he asserted, adding that the framework of good governance established under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be further reinforced.
