Are BJP, Shiv Sena & AIMIM Fueling 'Hindu-Mulism' Discord?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chandrapur, Jan 13 (NationPress) President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, Harshwardhan Sapkal, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Iteehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) of exacerbating religious tensions for their own political gain.
"These parties (BJP and AIMIM) instigate communities by fostering divisions such as "Hindu–Muslim" and "Maratha–OBC", yet they unite when it comes to clinching power. The green kite's string is saffron, and the bow's arrow is green," stated Sapkal.
He urged the citizens of Maharashtra to teach a lesson to the hypocritical BJP, Shiv Sena, and AIMIM in the forthcoming municipal elections, advocating for a decisive victory for the Congress.
Sapkal remarked that both the BJP and AIMIM are instilling fear regarding Hindu–Muslim issues, while they are also seen collaborating to enjoy the benefits of power.
"In Akot, the BJP and AIMIM allied for power. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis boasts that he will never partner with AIMIM, yet he neither terminates the alliance in Akot nor acts against it—because fundamentally, both parties are identical. In this struggle for power, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena is no different; it too has partnered with AIMIM in the Parli Municipal Council in Beed district," he added.
Calling on the populace to hold accountable these hypocrites who instill fear among the public only to embrace for power, Sapkal quoted: "Tu idhar udhar ki na baat kar, mujhe rehzanon se gila to hai, par teri rahbari ka sawal hai." (Avoid distractions; although I resent those who mislead, it is your leadership that is in question).
Vijay Wadettiwar, Leader of the Congress Legislative Party, mentioned that the BJP, which scrutinizes what Congress has achieved in 70 years, is now marketing what the venerable party constructed.
"Chandrapur city is plagued with potholes, lacks water supply, and is in a dire state. Aware of imminent defeat, the BJP is distributing packets of three thousand rupees. If Congress gains power in Chandrapur, we will establish well-equipped hospitals, initiate at least 10 English-medium schools, and guarantee a sufficient drinking water supply. The populace supports the Congress party; 40 Congress Corporators will be elected in the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation, and the Congress flag will wave over the civic body," he added.
