New Delhi, Sep 2 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensified its criticism of Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday regarding the revelation of two EPIC IDs belonging to Pawan Khera, a senior member of Congress and head of its media and publicity department. During a press briefing, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari highlighted the Congress party's hypocrisy concerning allegations of voter fraud, asserting that Khera's situation exemplifies the party's own involvement in electoral misconduct.
Bhandari raised five pivotal questions directed at the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, including whether Rahul was aware of Khera's alleged fraud, if he would label him as a 'vote chor', and if the Congress is opposing the SIR merely to divert attention from their own voter fraud issues. He also questioned whether Rahul would apologize for his mother Sonia Gandhi's acquisition of a voter ID by questionable means, and if there is a vote fraud scheme operating within the Congress party.
Bhandari characterized this as a serious breach of the Representation of People’s Act, 1951, which prohibits any citizen from voting more than once, and called for action against such 'illegal and criminal' behavior. He insisted that appropriate authorities should investigate the alleged irregularities within the 'corrupt' Congress party.
Accusing the entire party apparatus, Bhandari claimed that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress are orchestrating a voter fraud scheme and questioned why party leaders are receiving illicit voter IDs, implying that this stems from their disregard for impoverished and marginalized voters.
He expressed concern over Rahul's silence on the matter, noting that the entire Vadra-Gandhi family cannot distance themselves from it, referencing Sonia Gandhi’s unlawful acquisition of a voter ID prior to her naturalization as an Indian citizen decades ago.
“Rahul must clarify whether he was informed about this illegal method of obtaining a voter ID, will he take action against such glaring irregularities, and will he dismiss Pawan Khera?” Bhandari challenged.
Further, he accused Rahul Gandhi of being a perilous individual, claiming that he and his associates are on a mission to undermine the nation's democratic and electoral integrity with their deceitful narratives.
Bhandari demanded that Rahul and the Congress party apologize for their conspiracy to instigate false fears among citizens and cast doubts on the integrity of the electoral rolls.
“Previously, they alleged rigging in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), then protested about the Maharashtra Assembly elections, and now they are raising unfounded alarms regarding voter fraud. Rahul and the Congress need to halt their schemes against democracy,” he concluded.
