New Delhi, Sep 2 (NationPress) Amid the ongoing political discord surrounding Rahul Gandhi's accusations of "vote stealing", BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has urged for a comprehensive investigation following claims that Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera possesses two valid voter ID numbers.
In a conversation with IANS, Khandelwal stated, “When such allegations surface, a thorough investigation is essential. The Election Commission of India (ECI) must delve into this issue to uphold transparency.”
He also addressed Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks, which he characterized as a significant disclosure about purported voter fraud, labeling it a "nuclear bomb" of information.
In response to Gandhi's assertions, Khandelwal remarked, “While Rahul Gandhi makes bold claims about vote theft and promises shocking revelations, he appears to be uncertain about his own statements. Previous allegations have not materialized, and I suspect this will also fall flat—just like his leadership.”
Khandelwal accused the Opposition of intentionally eroding public confidence in democratic institutions.
“The ECI operates within its constitutional boundaries. The opposition raises complaints because they recognize that the NDA is poised to reclaim power. Even the Supreme Court has made observations regarding related issues. It’s crucial for political entities to cease inciting the public and concentrate on self-reform,” Khandelwal asserted.
Regarding the threat of flooding in Delhi and the NCR region due to heavy rainfall, Khandelwal expressed trust in the Delhi government.
“The Delhi administration has implemented timely initiatives. Relief camps are operational, and emergency protocols are underway. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is actively overseeing the situation. There’s no cause for alarm; the government has established commendable arrangements and is continuously monitoring developments,” he noted.
On the matter of illegal migrants in Delhi, Khandelwal adopted a decisive position. “Individuals residing illegally in this nation cannot be regarded as legal citizens. Intruders must depart. They deplete resources intended for our citizens. A responsible government will not permit this,” he emphasized to IANS.
