Bengaluru, Sep 20 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has criticized the Congress-led Siddaramaiah administration for increasing service fees for worshippers at 14 significant temples under the Muzrai Department in the state. Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka remarked on Saturday, "I fail to comprehend the kind of twisted satisfaction Chief Minister Siddaramaiah derives from imposing barriers on Hindu temples, festivities, and observances. By raising service fees at 14 prominent Muzrai temples across the state, including the renowned Kukke Subrahmanya, he has struck another blow to Hindus."
CM Siddaramaiah has firmly maintained that individuals of other faiths, who do not hold reverence for goddess Chamundeshwari, goddess Bhuvaneshwari, or the cultural icons of turmeric and vermilion, should inaugurate the Dussehra celebrations, Ashoka added.
"By using the justification of costly passes, he has complicated matters for ordinary citizens wishing to experience the Dussehra celebrations. CM Siddaramaiah, why do you foster such animosity and disdain for Hindus? Are Hindus regarded as second-class citizens in Rahul Gandhi's Constitution?" Ashoka queried.
The Muzrai Department has released an order to increase service fees in 14 temples, including the celebrated Kukke Subramanya Temple, Melukote Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple, Soutadka Mahaganapathi Temple, Mandarthi Durga Parameshwari Temple, and others. The revised fees will be implemented starting October 1.
Other notable temples experiencing fee hikes include the Yoga Narasimhaswamy Temple, Nandi Teertha, and Mahaganapathi Temples in Bengaluru, along with the Vidurashwatha Narayanaswamy Temple in Chikkaballapura.
However, Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy has clarified that the decision to increase service fees was made by the respective temple administrations, and the government order was issued following their suggestions.
At the Kukke Subramanya Swamy Temple, the fee for the widely sought-after Ashlesha Pooja and Nagara Pratishte rituals has risen from Rs 400 to Rs 500. All other ritual fees have also been escalated.
