New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has fiercely criticized the Congress for its response to the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, who is implicated in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, accusing the Congress of showing sympathy towards terrorists rather than acknowledging robust national security measures.
In a statement to IANS, Naqvi expressed, "I’m appalled that some Congress leaders are lamenting the demise of terrorists. Recall when Osama bin Laden was eliminated, a Congress leader showed admiration. After the Batla House encounter, a senior Congress figure was in tears. Their connection with terrorism appears to be one of soft sympathy. They don’t grasp that under Prime Minister Modi's zero-tolerance approach, such threats are firmly addressed, not sheltered."
He further denounced the Opposition’s attempts to associate the extradition with political agendas.
“This is not about elections. This concerns national security. When the Congress sheltered terrorists, did they think about elections then? The Modi government is prioritizing the nation’s welfare. We have not witnessed weekly terror attacks like in the past, which is a testament to strong leadership.”
Shifting attention to the recent protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, Naqvi defended the legislation, asserting that it does not threaten any community's religious rights.
"There is no danger to anyone's religious beliefs. This Act is an administrative measure aimed at systemic reforms. Even Union Home Minister Amit Shah clearly stated in Parliament that it ensures the safety and sanctity of all religious sites. This law serves as a guarantee," he emphasized.
He condemned the ongoing protests as part of a calculated disinformation campaign.
“Spreading falsehoods, inciting fear, creating disorder, it’s all a well-orchestrated plot. We’ve witnessed this pattern before, with the CAA, Triple Talaq, and Article 370. The same individuals stir communal unrest over any reform,” he stated.
Naqvi called for tranquility and understanding, noting that not all demonstrators harbor ill intentions. “Not every protestor is anti-national. Some are misinformed. They require enlightenment, not provocation,” he added.
