New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday delivered a fierce critique of the Congress party and its allies, accusing them of opposing the BJP's actions following the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a suspect in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. He claimed that they cannot accept Prime Minister Narendra Modi strengthening the fight against terrorism. Singh's comments were a reaction to remarks made by Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, who criticized the BJP for celebrating Rana's extradition as a "festival."

Dismissing the notion that the ruling party is politicizing this development, Singh insisted that this is not a celebration but a significant step in the battle against terrorism.

“All the terrorist activities that occurred during the Congress era on November 26, 2008, Narendra Modi has managed to bring those terrorists from America back to India,” Giriraj Singh stated during a press briefing.

“This will uncover Pakistan’s mischief and the terrorist organizations thriving there. This is PM Modi's commitment. Whether it’s internal strife or external terrorism, he will reveal the truth,” he asserted.

Singh further highlighted the significant decrease in terrorist incidents under the current administration.

“Previously, bomb blasts occurred frequently across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Mumbai. However, today, under Modi ji, there is an absolute intolerance for terrorism,” he noted.

“We do not engage in celebrations; we take decisive actions. Our actions are aimed at ensuring the peace and safety of the nation. Yet, this is what Congress and its supporters cannot bear—they are upset that Modi is tightening the grip on terrorism,” he claimed.

Singh's statements were a direct response to Sanjay Raut, who accused the BJP of treating Rana’s extradition as a “festival.”

“These individuals are celebrating the Tahawwur Rana festival. Kulbhushan Jadhav is suffering in a Pakistani jail; we need to bring him back. We must also return Dawood Ibrahim. This festival will persist until the Bihar elections,” Raut commented.

The political contention follows the extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani descent and a major conspirator in the 26/11 attacks, who was transferred to India from the United States after extensive legal battles.

A special NIA court on Friday placed Rana in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for 18 days, marking a pivotal moment in India's quest for justice for the victims of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, which resulted in 166 fatalities.
