New Delhi, April 9 (NationPress) The much-anticipated extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a central figure among those implicated in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, represents a significant victory for the nation under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stated Union Minister Shantanu Thakur on Wednesday.

"This is indeed a considerable success and a notable achievement as, under the stewardship of our esteemed Prime Minister, India is pursuing the vision of a Viksit Bharat. Therefore, everything must be developed and fortified," he remarked.

A comprehensive team from India has reportedly journeyed to the US, where the procedural and legal formalities for the extradition have been completed with US officials.

This development signifies a crucial milestone in pursuing justice for Rana's involvement in the tragic 2008 attacks that resulted in the loss of 166 lives.

Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla highlighted the tactical approach undertaken by the Indian government in this matter, asserting, "This illustrates how strategically and meticulously Prime Minister Modi's administration operates."

The news has also elicited responses from the opposition, with Congress leader Atul Londhe endorsing the decision, stating, "This is a commendable step. Those who have acted against the nation should face extradition, and this should not only apply to Tahawwur Rana. Vijay Mallya should also be returned, along with everyone else who has fled the country after robbing the nation’s resources."

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Raju Waghmare expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Modi for his pivotal role in securing Rana’s extradition, stating, "We express our thanks and congratulations to Prime Minister Modi for his efforts that have enabled us to bring a terrorist back to India. On behalf of Shiv Sena, we extend our gratitude to Prime Minister Modi."

"If necessary, amend the Constitution, but this terrorist must face justice. Not just with one bullet, but he should be shot a hundred times in a public encounter to send a clear message to the world: anyone who harbors malicious intentions towards our nation will face severe repercussions," he added.

The 26/11 Mumbai attacks have long been a focal point of global attention. The legal proceedings are ongoing, and it is anticipated that Rana's return to India will offer closure to families impacted by one of the most horrific terrorist incidents in the country’s history.
