New Delhi, April 10 (NationPress) BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Thursday commended the Narendra Modi government for its decisive action in securing the extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, an accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, to India. He highlighted the government's unwavering stance against terrorism and corruption.

In an interview with IANS, Tiwari remarked, “Our nation is privileged to have a leader like Narendra Modi, who has championed a constructive agenda focused on the upliftment of the underprivileged while demonstrating zero tolerance for criminals and corruption. The pain from the 26/11 incident is still fresh, particularly as the mastermind found asylum in the US.”

He noted that after numerous attempts to extradite Rana, the operation is finally succeeding under the guidance of US President Donald Trump and the relentless endeavors of Prime Minister Modi.

“This marks a monumental success for the Modi administration. The entire nation appreciates PM Modi and his team. Today exemplifies India’s steadfast commitment to combating terrorism,” he stated.

Tiwari also addressed opposition criticisms regarding the repatriation of fugitives such as Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, and Mehul Choksi.

“The focus here is on terrorism, which has claimed innocent lives. Regarding other criminals and fugitives, the government is actively pursuing them. Their assets are being confiscated, and efforts to bring them to justice are ongoing,” he concluded.

Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a Canadian-American national of Pakistani descent, is among India’s most wanted fugitives. He was extradited after exhausting all legal options to resist this move.

A specially chartered flight carrying the 64-year-old departed from the US on April 9 and is expected to land in New Delhi on Thursday, representing a crucial step in India’s quest for justice regarding the 26/11 attack.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will manage Rana’s extradition, with assistance from the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He is anticipated to be presented before a court in Delhi shortly after his arrival.
