Varanasi, April 11 (NationPress) During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to a massive crowd in the city, marking the launch of projects valued at Rs 3,880 crore, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers showcased banners and posters expressing their appreciation to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the successful extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a principal suspect in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

As thousands congregated at the public meeting, BJP supporters held placards with slogans such as, "Kayi honge benakaab, sabka hoga hisaab" (Many will be exposed, all those involved will pay the price).

Describing the extradition as a "historic moment of justice," BJP members credited PM Modi's leadership and the Centre's diplomatic efforts for making it possible.

They asserted that this action conveys a clear message that India is committed to combating terrorism and will pursue justice without delay, regardless of how long it takes.

BJP members in Varanasi noted that Rana's questioning could reveal more information regarding the horrific 2008 attacks, which resulted in over 160 fatalities and numerous injuries.

Anoop Jaiswal, a BJP member present at the event, remarked to IANS, "We express our gratitude to PM Modi and HM Shah for bringing the mastermind of 26/11, Tahawwur Rana, to India. Since 2014, India has been actively sending a message to nations attempting to incite terrorism here."

"We call for a swift trial and investigation," he continued, proposing the death penalty for Tahawwur Rana.

Notably, NDA allies including Shiv Sena have also endorsed Rana's extradition to India and called for a death sentence for the 26/11 plotter. They stated that this extradition fulfills a long-standing demand from the nation and the families of victims.

Rana was flown in from Los Angeles on a special flight with tight security on Thursday evening, accompanied by teams from the NIA and the National Security Guard (NSG), including senior officials.

Upon his arrival in New Delhi from the US on Thursday evening, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) commenced questioning Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who has been placed in NIA custody for 18 days by a Special Court.

The NIA has stated that Rana's extradition marks a significant advancement in uncovering the entire conspiracy behind the 26/11 terror attacks and will assist in identifying and prosecuting others involved.
