New Delhi, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has vehemently criticized the prevailing ecosystem, which includes Congress and the INDIA bloc allies, for their evident animosity towards Sanatan Dharma. The party has called for legal repercussions against DMK minister Udhaynidhi Stalin for his harmful remarks against Hinduism.

The BJP also applauded the Madras High Court for dismissing a criminal case against BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya initiated by the Trichy City Crime Branch concerning a social media post, labeling Stalin's comments as hate speech.

In a ruling delivered on Tuesday, the High Court noted that Udhayanidhi Stalin's statements regarding Sanatana Dharma in 2023 sparked a significant political uproar and constituted hate speech.

During a press briefing at the BJP headquarters, spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala lambasted the DMK government for fabricating a case intended to intimidate the BJP leader while accusing it of employing state apparatus to target political adversaries.

“I want to inquire from the ecosystem, what has happened to free speech concerning Amit Malviya?” he questioned.

Poonawala further insisted that the DMK minister should be promptly dismissed for his hateful remarks about Sanatan Dharma and that a legal case should ensue against him.

“The Congress party professes to be a defender of Hindus but remains silent despite the DMK minister’s blatant call for the extermination of Hindus. When will the Congress demand that the state government act against Udhayanidhi Stalin?” Poonawala challenged.

Praising the Madras High Court's ruling, the BJP official stated, “One crucial message from the Madras High Court's order delivered yesterday is that Satyamev Jayate—truth ultimately prevails.”

This ruling pertains to a case filed with the motive of political vendetta. The DMK government initiated this case solely to harass and persecute BJP IT Cell head and West Bengal co-in-charge, Amit Malviya, for expressing the truth,” he asserted.

Poonawala, referencing Stalin's statements from 2023, mentioned that the DMK leader, son of TN CM MK Stalin, had advocated not merely resistance to Sanatan but its total abolition and eradication.

“When these statements were highlighted by Amit Malviya, instead of taking action against Udhayanidhi Stalin, the entire DMK apparatus, police, and other agencies were vindictively employed to target Amit Malviya,” the BJP spokesperson noted.

No measures were taken against Udhayanidhi Stalin's toxic statements, while actions were directed against those who, as Hindus and adherents of Sanatan, raised these concerns,” he added.

Notably, the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court annulled the FIR filed in 2023 against BJP leader Amit Malviya for purportedly misrepresenting Udaynidhi Stalin’s statements and branded the latter's comments as ‘hate speech’.

The court also indicated that no criminal charges were filed against the Minister in Tamil Nadu regarding his supposed hate speech, although cases have been lodged in other states.

This controversy traces back to September 2023 when Udhayanidhi Stalin ignited national discourse with his remarks on Sanatana Dharma at a public event.

“Certain things cannot merely be opposed; they must be eradicated. We cannot merely resist dengue, mosquitoes, malaria, or corona; we must eliminate them. In the same vein, we need to abolish Sanatana, rather than just opposing it,” he stated.

Stalin further contended that Sanatana Dharma fundamentally contradicts social justice and equality, asserting that it perpetuates divisions rooted in caste and religion.

These comments have faced severe backlash, with BJP and Hindu organizations condemning it as an “open call for genocide” against followers of Sanatana Dharma.
