Jaipur, Feb 27 (NationPress) An altercation erupted among BJP members during the ‘Minority Front’ assembly at the party office headquarters in Jaipur on Thursday.
The disturbance occurred under the watch of the party's state president, Madan Rathore.
In reaction to the clash, BJP ‘Minority Front’ state president Hamid Khan Mewati quickly took action by dismissing Javed Qureshi, the BJP Minority cell state general secretary, from his role.
Following the incident, Mewati released a statement emphasizing party discipline, stating, "You were involved in a scuffle and assaulted BJP Minority Front office bearers within the state office, which is viewed as indiscipline according to party principles. Therefore, you are immediately relieved of your responsibilities as BJP Minority Front State General Secretary."
The scuffle took place just prior to the commencement of the Minority Front meeting.
As state president Madan Rathore approached the stage, Javed Qureshi attempted to intervene. This led to activist Fariduddin Jackie reacting violently and slapping Qureshi, igniting a fierce altercation between the two. The uproar disrupted the atmosphere of the meeting.
Fariduddin Jackie, a former vice president of the BJP Minority Front, stated: “I did not misbehave with any official. I was descending after seating the president on the stage. General Secretary Javed Qureshi did all this to defame me.”
In relation to the incident, former General Secretary of the Minority Front Javed Qureshi mentioned that the chairs were organized for those expected to be on the stage.
“However, Jackie insisted that my chair should be positioned behind the president. When we asked him to come down politely, he began to hurl insults at us,” he explained.
He noted that other BJP officials and workers quickly stepped in to separate the two, with state president Madan Rathore also trying to calm the situation.
He added that, however, tensions remained until party leadership intervened and restored order.
