Jaipur, Feb 10 (NationPress) BJP state president Madan Rathore on Monday issued a show-cause notice to state Cabinet minister Kirodi Lal Meena, citing indiscipline regarding his claims of phone tapping. The party considers Kirodi Lal Meena's assertions a breach of discipline and has requested a response within three days.
Kirodi Lal Meena has been making contentious statements that have consistently caused unrest within the party.
His conduct was reported to the central leadership by both the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and party officials, as informed by a party worker to IANS.
However, due to the ongoing Delhi elections, immediate action was delayed, according to sources. It is reported that state president Rathore consulted BJP national president J.P. Nadda via phone prior to issuing the notice.
Currently, Rathore is in Delhi to take part in the upcoming Parliament session. During this visit, he is anticipated to confer with the national leadership regarding subsequent actions against Kirodi.
The party maintains that Kirodi Lal Meena’s public statements have damaged the reputation of the BJP-led government and signify a breach of party discipline.
The notice, issued under the directives of the BJP’s national president, instructs Kirodi Lal Meena to provide an explanation within three days.
"Failure to respond will be interpreted as an acceptance of the allegations. Your statement has been regarded by the national president of the party as indiscipline in accordance with the party's constitution. This show-cause notice is being dispatched to you as directed by the National President of BJP. You are required to submit your explanation on the allegations within three days; otherwise, it will be assumed that you do not wish to provide any explanation regarding the allegations," the notice stated.
On February 6, Kirodi Lal Meena openly accused his own government of phone tapping.
In response, he mentioned: "I am not aware of the show-cause notice. I am a disciplined soldier of the party; upon receiving the notice, I will send my reply to the party leadership within the designated timeframe."
Previously, while speaking in Jaipur, he alleged that the CID was targeting him and that his phone was under surveillance. He asserted that the government overlooked his concerns about corruption.
