Jaipur, Feb 12 (NationPress) Rajasthan Cabinet minister Kirodi Lal Meena announced on Wednesday that he has formally replied to the BJP leadership concerning the show-cause notice issued to him regarding his phone tapping allegations.

In his statement to the party leaders, he asserted: "My phone is being tapped, and I have been informed about this. I did not publicize this to the media; I only brought it up at a social event, and someone made it widely known. I have continuously demonstrated my dedication to the party and adhered to its discipline."

He further emphasized that the BJP state president possesses the authority to take action in cases of indiscipline, while others are not qualified to comment on the process.

Earlier on Wednesday, Meena submitted his response to the party's notice through email, highlighting that he had received information indicating that his phone was under surveillance.

Meena had previously accused his own administration of phone tapping, igniting a political controversy that even led to a stir in the assembly during the Chief Minister's address.

When speaking to the media in Jaipur about the notice from the party and his subsequent reply, Meena chose to keep the specifics of his response private, but he maintained that he was not displeased.

"If I were upset, I wouldn’t be smiling," he remarked.

Regarding any potential disciplinary measures, he reiterated that the decision rests solely with the state president.

"If my response does not meet expectations, it is only he who can determine the next steps," he stated.

"The current government is behaving just like the prior administration. Personnel from the CID are being assigned to track me, and my phone communications are being recorded. Nevertheless, this does not bother me," he claimed earlier.

Additionally, Meena commented on the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), noting that media reports suggested it had faced reprimand, which he considered warranted.

He contended that while the RPSC should not be abolished, it ought to be restructured. "Even Sachin Pilot has called for its dissolution," he noted.

Meena also backed MLA Gopal Sharma’s recent comments, recalling a past episode where directives were allegedly issued for his "encounter" during a previous administration.

On Monday (February 10), the Rajasthan unit BJP president Madan Rathore issued a notice to Meena, citing indiscipline over his phone tapping remarks. He was allotted three days to provide a response.
