Bhopal, July 9 (NationPress) A man in his middle ages, who was allegedly connected with BJP MLA Chintamani Malviya, was found murdered in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
The police discovered his body concealed beneath concrete debris at a remote site along an under-construction road in Sarsi village of Ratlam.
The victim has been named as Kanhaiyalal Dhakad, a local of Sarsi village. Reports indicate that Dhakad was serving as a representative for Alot MLA Chintamani Malviya.
On Tuesday, family members and villagers protested, claiming that Dhakad was murdered after he was recently assaulted by two individuals during a mediation over a financial dispute just days prior.
During the protest, Dhakad's son Ajay spoke with reporters, stating that his father had intervened in a money-related disagreement between two individuals a few days ago. Two days later, he faced insults and violence from two people.
"My father filed a complaint against two individuals – Shazad Khan and Vinod Kharol at the Jaora police station on June 23. They were taken into custody the following day. They could be responsible for my father's death," Ajay Dhakad expressed.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rakesh Khakha, along with the local police team, examined the scene and conducted an investigation for over two hours.
Subsequently, a dog squad also arrived at the location for further examination.
In a statement to the media, ASP Rakesh Khakha confirmed that after the post-mortem, the body was returned to the family.
He mentioned that the police have gathered some evidence vital for the ongoing investigation.
"SP Amit Kumar has established a SIT to delve into this case. We are exploring multiple angles, and we are committed to resolving it swiftly," ASP Khakha stated.
